Signals

Monitor real-time buying signals — funding, hiring, tech changes, and social intent — across your ICP.

Signal types

Bunlead tracks six categories of buying signals. Funding signals fire when a company closes a round (Seed through IPO). Hiring signals fire when a company posts specific job titles. Tech-change signals fire when a company adds or removes software from their stack. Leadership signals fire when a new executive joins or an existing one departs. Mention signals track when your company or a competitor is named publicly. Social signals track LinkedIn activity indicating purchase intent.

Creating a signal feed

Go to Signals → Feeds → New Feed. Give the feed a name, choose signal types to include, and apply your ICP filter. Each feed shows a real-time stream of matching events. You can star, dismiss, or assign signals from the feed view without leaving the page.

Signal scoring

Each signal has a confidence score (1–10) based on data source quality and recency. Signals from official filings (SEC, Companies House) score higher than those from scraped sources. Signals can also be weighted manually in Settings → Signal Scoring to reflect what matters most for your ICP.

Workflows and automation

Signals become valuable when connected to actions. Go to Signals → Workflows to create triggers: "When a funding signal fires for a company matching my ICP, create a Salesforce lead, assign to the matching territory rep, and send a Slack notification." Workflows run in real time — there is no batch processing delay.

Signal history

Every signal event is logged with a timestamp, source, and confidence score. You can view the full signal history for any company from the company detail page. History goes back 24 months. This is useful for understanding a company's activity arc before reaching out.

Alert frequency and deduplication

By default, you receive at most one alert per company per signal type per 30 days to prevent duplicate outreach. You can adjust this in Settings → Alert Frequency. Deduplication is also applied against your CRM — companies already in an active Salesforce opportunity will not generate new signals unless you enable that in settings.
